Standards


We uphold the highest professional standards of training and practice.

Much of our work is focused on maintaining high standards of practitioner education and competency.

CSTA-accredited colleges report to the trustees annually and are subject to triennial inspections by our Accreditation Body to ensure that they continue to provide high-quality training. The ethos, integrity and professionalism of each college and its ability to meet the criteria and educational standards of the CSTA provide the basis for the Accreditation Body’s judgement.  Above all, it seeks to ensure that students are well served by the college and are trained to a high level of competency. It includes both practising craniosacral therapists and lay people with particular skills and experience in education and training.

Graduates from CSTA-accredited colleges may register as members of the CSTA. Membership entitles a craniosacral therapist to use RCST (Registered Craniosacral Therapist) after their name. Members are bound by the CSTA’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and are required to undertake at least two years of regular supervision, as well as annual continuing professional development to enhance their practice. In addition, current first aid training is a requirement of registration.
